We’re thrilled to announce that we’re the first and only fully regulated online sportsbook in the province. This means that we’ve received a “Casino Gaming” license from the Government of Alberta, and have been approved by the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Alberta to operate a gaming site in accordance with the Gaming and Betting Act.

With the start of legal sports betting in Canada on Thursday, online fans of all different kinds of sports had something to cheer about. Not only do they now have access to wagering on all major sports, but more than one site will be available for fans to choose from, with Edmonton’s first regulated online sportsbook being one of them.

The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission has approved the first legal online sportsbook in the province, with a license to operate under the name “High Stakes Play”. High Stakes Play is the brainchild of Alberta-based Rob King, who, according to the company’s website, is a certified casino sportsbook instructor.

The Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission launched the province’s first regulated online sports betting program on September 1, which is big news for the gaming sector. This was made possible by the Crown’s cooperation with NeoPollard Interactive, which is owned by Pollard Banknote, and Sporting Solutions, another partner.

On the province’s sole regulated online site, PlayAlberta.ca, local gamblers and sports enthusiasts now have access to sports betting options. They may make bets on a variety of athletic events after creating an account, including matches from fan-favorite sports like the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB, NCAA football, and even soccer.

The First Sportsbook on the Internet

Acting President & Chief Executive Officer of AGLC, Kandice Machado stated that the Crown agency’s intention is to find new ways of improving the online platform. According to her, with the addition of sports wagering players will now have an even greater variety. She explained that the familiar sports betting offering is introduced in a safe and regulated playing environment.

NeoPollard Interactive’s cutting-edge NeoSphere iLottery Technology and Sporting Solutions’ Advanced Betting Platform make Alberta’s newest sports betting options possible. The latter is a well-known B2B sports betting service that presently works with gaming companies all around the globe. Both businesses work together to provide Albertans with an excellent sports betting experience.

NeoPollard Interactive’s General Manager, Liz Siver, said that the business continues to grow and enhance its products in order to provide Albertans with the finest lottery, casino, and sports betting options available. As the Crown’s primary online partner, the business offers a comprehensive range of services, including cutting-edge technology, a Power Suite of operational services, and content.

Andy Wright, CEO of Sporting Solution, expressed his delight at the company’s collaboration with the AGLC and NeoPollard Interactive in the establishment of the province’s first-ever regulated internet sportsbook. Mr. Wright said that the launch of the service comes at an ideal moment, since Canada has just allowed betting on individual sports events, providing Albertans with even more options.

AGS introduces a new product.

Previously, the AGLC improved its land-based offerings as the Crown agency has launched several gaming products from AGS. Alberta was the first province to experience the gaming provider’s new Starwall x Orion slot merchandising attraction and its new Orion Curve slot cabinet in brick-and-mortar casinos. They are now available in Cash Casino Calgary, Century Casino & Hotel Edmonton, Deerfoot Inn & Casino, Grey Eagle Resort & Casino, Pure Casino Calgary, Pure Casino Edmonton, and River Cree Resort & Casino.

More New Products

The improvement of offering did not end there as in August, the Crown entity announced that it will be introducing Gaming Arts’ slot series Pop’N Pays™ to its land-based casinos. Alberta was the first Canadian jurisdiction to debut the product and it is currently available in the following casino properties: Century Mile Racetrack and Casino, Cowboys Casino, Deerfoot Inn & Casino, Grey Eagle Resort and Casino, River Cree Resort and Casino, and Starlight Casino Edmonton.

The website PokerStars.ca was shut down just days after it opened earlier this year, leaving Albertans unable to play online poker in the province. Since then, the province’s Gaming and Liquor Commission has been considering how to regulate online sports betting, and has given its preliminary approval to a new website called Paddypower.com. The site would be the first in Canada to be regulated online sports betting (which includes betting on horse racing and greyhound and football and hockey games.) The site has been created by the business arm of the Paddypower Group, a company that licenses and operates gaming and gaming-related industries in 10 countries around the world. Paddypower Canada Inc. won regulatory approval to get into. Read more about is roobet legal in us and let us know what you think.
