Jason Smith, who works for Fortune at the MGM in Las Vegas, said the Lotto Max offer was worth $266 million, but he chose to take $1 million instead of the full amount because his wife, Lisa Smith, is expecting their first child. Michael Gao, who works for Pita Pit in Toronto, was the runner-up in the game, winning $50,000.

Nine winners of the $105 million Lotto Max jackpot were chosen in Ontario on Wednesday. The winners included two sisters, two brothers, and another set of brothers and sisters, who were all chosen at the same time. The names of the winners were not released, but they are now public record.
