Partypoker US Network Brings Big Names to Online Series

The monthly series on the partypoker US Network is getting a little more flavor. In New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, several major names are presenting the March Poker Mania series.

The tournament runs from March 20 to 27, with a total prize pool of more than $1.3 million guaranteed throughout all three states. In each market, online poker players have 19 tournaments to choose from, with buy-ins ranging from $55 to $1,060.

Darren Elias (New Jersey), Matt Berkey (Pennsylvania), and Andrew Neeme (New York) headline the March Poker Mania series (Michigan).

Players in New Jersey may participate in the party, BetMGM, and Borgata Poker skins. Players in Michigan may play at BetMGM, while those in Pennsylvania can play at MGM or Borgata Poker.

In a press statement, BetMGM director of poker Luke Staudenmaier remarked, “We’re happy that March Poker Mania will feature three poker giants, bringing BetMGM players many new touchpoints with our brand.”

“This is the first time we’ve concurrently organized an online poker tournament in several states and with various hosts, and we’re looking forward to connecting our players and our brand with MGM locations around the nation.”

The frenzy of partypoker starts.

Each of the three states on the partypoker US Network has its own monthly online series. March Poker Mania is the new name for this month’s tournament series.

Each of the three markets described above is a “ringed-in” environment, which means that players may only compete with other players from that state. For March Mania, the three states will have identical schedules and activities, but specific event guarantees may vary per state.

The primary game for this series will be No Limit Hold’em, with some Omaha events thrown in for good measure. The Main Event, worth $1,060 in each state, will take place on March 27 with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000. The following are some additional noteworthy events:

  • $535 Eight-Max Warmup (March 20) – $50,000 guaranteed (NJ); $40,000 guaranteed (CA) (PA, MI)
  • $109 Progressive Knockout (March 20) – $35,000 guaranteed (NJ); $30,000 guaranteed (PA) (PA, MI)
  • $15,000 guaranteed in the $215 Pot Limit Omaha (Event 6 on March 20). (NJ, PA, MI)
  • $75,000 guaranteed in the $535 NLH Eight-Max (Event 18, March 27) (NJ, PA, MI)

Here’s a peek at each state’s whole schedule.

March would be incomplete without brackets. The Heads-Up Bracket Battle at March Mania will have a $1,000 buy-in.

The event is a tournament-style event with 32 participants. The winner will get a $10,000 bonus from Partypoker.

A look at the hosts of the show

The series has a number of powerful hitters. With four World Poker Tour victories, poker player Darren Elias owns the record for most wins in New Jersey. He also holds the record for the most final table appearances and cashes, with over $9.4 million in live event profits.

“As the partypoker US Network continues to grow,” he recently told USPoker. “I’m looking forward to growing with them and bringing championship-level online poker to players throughout the United States.”

In addition, Elias will be performing live in the Garden State. He’ll also be competing in the $1,000 buy-in Borgata Spring Rebound Tournament on March 25.

During the Pennsylvania series, competitors from across the Delaware River may compete against host Matt Berkey. He’s excited about the 32-player Heads-Up event.

“I’ve marked the heads-up event on my calendar,” he stated. “It’s not a format I usually play, but I enjoy the notion of a March Madness-style shootout, and the extra $10,000 for first place is a nice touch.”

The Pittsburgh native has a net worth of about $4.3 million. In the Keystone State, he is now ranked eighth all-time among tournament players. On the Solve For Why YouTube channel, he wants to live broadcast cash games and handicap college basketball throughout the series.

Andrew Neeme, a professional, will host the Michigan series. His YouTube poker vlog has proven popular with players, and he is a well-known cash player. Neeme now has around 174,000 users.

Twitch broadcasters were the major winners in February.

In February’s Bounty Blitz series, Michigan’s Greg “gabpoker” Brewer had a strong showing. He made it to the final table twice. On his Twitch account, Brewer broadcasts a lot of his MGM tournament activity.

Brewer came up just short of winning Event 8 after placing second to Dan “DrDad1819” Schill, another Twitch broadcaster. The winner gets a new Twitch channel as well as a YouTube one.
