There’s a saying in gambling that you should never lay more than you can afford to lose. If you lose money you can’t afford to lose, you’ll eventually stop playing. I probably shouldn’t even be writing this because there’s almost no chance I’ll ever play a $1000 blackjack game, but I want to show you what I mean.

This is a blog about the art of holding out, and it means to be patient. It means to wait for the right moment to strike, and it means to be cagey when you do.

Everyone knows that “The house always wins” when it comes to gambling. No matter how badly you play, the casinos always come out on top. So, what is the secret of “holding out” for the casinos in a game of craps?

Dustin Jermalowicz POSTED IN Blackjack word-image-4904 Last week I wrote an article about how I claimed a bonus at the DraftKings casino in Michigan. I took advantage of a 1x playthrough on the bonus to play blackjack and won almost $100. The casino then accused me of abusing the bonuses and warned me not to do it again. I don’t understand how this can be called bonus abuse, because I did exactly what the terms required. However, it got me thinking about bonuses and how by holding back and not playing for a long time, you can get great bonuses. For those who don’t know, online casinos and sports betting arrived in regulated form in Michigan in January of this year. We see many operators coming into the market and offering new services, which means a lot of competition. So gambling companies lure players to their sites with big bonuses, and the losses are huge in the first few months. For me, as a hunter, this first month has been very important. I used to take a lot of money from the casino, and when those bonuses started to dry up, I stopped playing at the casino. I don’t necessarily come to the establishment to gamble, I just want to use the casino promotions against it. For me, this has led me to stay away from all websites….. Until I started getting interesting emails.

Premiums I have received

After avoiding a site for a few weeks, I got offers for $25 in free chips. Later, I started placing free bets on various sports betting sites. That’s all well and good, and it’s free money, but it wasn’t that juicy. I noticed that the longer I was gone, the better bonus offers I got. There are 20% games with a bet requirement of 1x (from DraftKings), but also 100% offers with a bet requirement of 5x and others. Intrigued, I claimed these bonuses and managed to play blackjack all the way through using the site’s basic strategies. Each time I managed to cash in and the bonuses disappeared. I waited another two weeks and saw more premiums come in. Of course, I’m now starting to see that playing blackjack only pays out 10% of the required bonus, which means you really have to get through to make ends meet. However, it is quite possible if you are disciplined and able to play according to this basic strategy.

Course

In the end, I just want to let you, the reader, know that it may be wise to sit back if you are not getting good website performance. Make sure the casino wants you, not that you want to play at the casino. Patience is a virtue, and when you put that patience into action, you can walk away with money.
