TheScore, a digital sports media company and part of Rogers Media Inc. (TSX: RCI.A), announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Canlan Sports, a leading provider of gaming equipment and supplies to the gaming industry, for TheScore eSports, a new venture that is set to launch in the coming weeks.
TheScore , a leading sports news and information platform and a leader in mobile-first and real-time analytics for sports betting, today announced an agreement with Canlan. The deal aims to provide a larger audience of sports fans with the world of sports betting. In addition to its leadership in the mobile sports betting space, theScore has also reached an agreement with Canlan to provide daily live betting windows and in-game betting options, as well as integrate Canlan’s in-game betting platform into theScore’s iOS and Android mobile applications.
Score Media and Gaming, or theScore as it is known in the gaming business, has lately expanded its partner circle. The Toronto-based sports betting business has reached an agreement with Canlan Sports, a Canadian recreational sports organization. The former will assist the latter in promoting its brand throughout the nation as part of the agreement.
Both businesses will profit from the collaboration’s cross-promotion throughout their digital channels as a result of the arrangement. Furthermore, theScore’s offerings, such as the theScore Bet mobile betting app, will have a significant presence in Canlan Sports’ Canadian portfolio. The app will also take on the role of title sponsor for the adult recreational hockey league events run by the sports business.
Mutual Advantages
Canlan will now be able to tap into theScore’s adult participation network, while the latter will be able to use the former’s digital media clout throughout Canada to market its sports and recreational services brands. TheScore will take sport-surface title sponsorship for its partner’s six Ontario Sports Complexes this autumn, bringing the relationship to life.
Aubrey Levy, theScore’s senior vice president of marketing, said that when the company’s brand debuts in Ontario, the team would look into methods to engage larger audiences and build genuine relationships to the brand. According to Mr. Levy, the new agreement would enable the company to build a connection with the province’s numerous sports enthusiasts and present its products responsibly.
Canlan Sports’ president and chief executive officer, Joey St-Aubin, has also remarked on the company’s latest agreement and partners. According to Mr. St-Aubin, the business promotes a safe and legally regulated sports betting industry. He also complimented theScore’s leading position in the sector, predicting that residents would enjoy the industry’s fast growth.
The president and CEO went on to add that the company’s momentum in the nation would continue to grow as a result of the new cooperation agreement. By introducing its sports brand to all sports lovers in the province, the business will be able to improve its digital transformation, gamification, and customer experience.
The Expansion of Ontario
With the passage of time, Ontario’s gaming sector continues to expand. BetRegal, an online sportsbook, made its debut in the province last week. The province will have access to the European company’s free-to-play platform. Players may win a variety of rewards when gambling on the website, including tickets to CFL, NHL, and NBA events, goods, and real-life experiences.
The Rules of Online Gaming Have Changed
Last month, the province’s newest gaming organization, iGaming Ontario, was established, and it has already made changes to the province’s fast growing online gambling industry’s regulations. The organization has made the Auto-Play function in online slots illegal, giving gamers more control over their gaming experience. The spinning wheel must now spin at a minimum of 2.5 seconds each revolution. Playing on several screens or in split-screen mode is likewise banned.
