It’s always a sad day when you have to declare a winner. On Sept. 2, the Manitoba Lotteries Corporation announced the four lucky winners who purchased tickets for the $1.5 million Maxmillion draw. Jack and Janice Gifford of Rural Municipality of Springburn won the first prize of $200,000; Roger and Letty Saunderson, of the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews, got $100,000 for an $80,000 second prize; and Lisa and Scott Shireman, of the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews, won $60,000 for the third prize of $40,000.
Manitoba is known for its beautiful scenery and rich history, but it’s also known for being the birthplace of the sugar beet industry. The city of Brandon, located in the province’s southwest corner, was founded in 1873 due to the influx of immigrants from Poland and the Ukraine, who were contracted to work in the area’s sugar beet fields.
The Manitoba government has announced that the province will split two $1,000,000 Maxmillion prizes. One of the prizes is a $1,000,000 Winner’s Circle prize, and the other is a $500,000 Draw prize. The prize will be split among 80 randomly selected residents of Manitoba.
In a record week for the Canadian lottery, the favourite Lotto Max game has raised a total of $117 million Canadian money. The Lottery Corporation of Western Canada has announced that two Maxmillion prizes of $1 million CDN each were sold to two lucky Manitoba ticket holders in this week’s Tuesday Lotto Max draw. The first is in Winnipeg and the second is somewhere outside the capital. In Canada, Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 are probably the two most popular and sought after lottery games. Draws are held twice a week and participants have the chance to win life-changing prizes. The games are available for purchase in stores across the county and online.
This week’s Lotto Max includes prizes totaling CAD 117,000,000 with the jackpot crossing the CAD 70,000,000 million mark. In addition, 47 Maxmillion prizes worth $1,000,000 CAD each were raffled off. Although no one won the jackpot, two lucky Manitoba ticket holders won two Maxmillions prizes in Tuesday’s draw. To be eligible for the Maxmillions prize, the ticket must match all seven winning numbers. The first of the tickets was sold in Winnipeg and the winning numbers were 1, 19, 22, 39, 40, 45 and 48. The other cardholder lives somewhere outside the capital and his winning numbers are 1, 12, 30, 36, 41, 45 and 47. According to Crown Corporation, 23 of the 47 Maxmillion prizes were won in Tuesday’s draw.
Lottery winner 6/49
The Ontario Lottery Corporation has announced that an Elliot Lake resident has won the C$4.437 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot. Arthur Walters can enjoy a huge win if his ticket was drawn on the 22nd. May was the winning ticket. The retired businessman explained that he had been playing the game for decades with the same numbers, but won after using the Quick Pick feature, which selects a random combination of numbers on the ticket. Walter said he has been playing the Lotto 6/49 online at OLG.ca since the launch of the platform and his luck has finally paid off.

This is not the first time the Lotto Max jackpot has reached its maximum potential of $70,000,000 CAD. The top prize also peaked in February and was won by a couple living in Noleville. Kirkland Lake Winner
Another person who was also lucky enough to win the Lotto Max jackpot was Grover Adams in April. The Kirkland Lake resident couldn’t believe his eyes when it said on his ticket that he had won $15 million Canadian. In the draw for the match on the 20th.
