Woodbine Ent. Reminds of Winter Series Deadline

Woodbine Entertainment recently released a statement reminding all horse enthusiasts of the forthcoming deadline for nominations for its Winter Series races. Contestants who want to compete have until Wednesday, December 1, 2021 to submit their applications for the winter season series, which will include ten events.

The horse racing leader already announced that the upcoming Winter Series at Milton Woodbine Mohawk Park would include four additional events. In addition to the well-known Niagara, Valedictory, Blizzard, Snowshoe, Wine & Roses, and Family Day events, the firm has introduced two claiming series for Ontario sired four-year-olds, as well as the Ontario Boys and Ontario Girls events.

Additional Information

The company’s newest announcement informs all horsepeople that nominations for the forthcoming Winter Series will close on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Nominations cost CA$200, and the company’s official website has the complete terms and application form. Payments may also be made via the company’s website.

Additionally, the corporation cautions applicants that submissions must be clearly postmarked before December 1, 2021 in order to be deemed genuine. Payments for nominations will not be accepted if this is not the case. In addition, while applying for the winter events at the Milton racetrack, the horse racing leader recommends all harness competitors to utilize registered mail.

Horsepeople should be aware that the New Year Claiming Pace is an event for Ontario sired 4-year-old pacers in 2022. Legs 1 and 8 are on January 1, and the final is on January 15. Then, in 2022, the New Year Claiming Trot will be held for Ontario sired 4-year-old trotters, with the first leg taking place on January 3, the second on January 10, and the final on January 17.

The Ontario Girls and Ontario Boys are the last two new events. The first is for four-year-old pacing mares sired in Ontario in 2022 who have never won more than CA$75,000 in their lives before October 31, 2021. The first leg will take place on February 17, the second on February 24, and the final will take place on March 3.

Then there’s the Ontario Boys, who are 4-year-old pacing horses and geldings from Ontario that haven’t earned more than CA$75,000 in their careers by October 31, 2021. The first leg will take place on February 18, the second on February 25, and the final on March 4, 2022, according to the firm.

Pop-Up Events are events that occur on a temporary basis.

Woodbine Entertainment also revealed further details on their Pop-Up events concept at the end of November, which began at Woodbine Mohawk Park and will continue through December. Each event is for non-winners of CA$25,000 in 2021, and each consists of three legs with a minimum of ten participants. The third leg is the final, which has a prize of CA$30,000 for the top earners.
